PART I

Manifestation of Social Darwinism in Modern China

Do the Chinese actually believe in anything? Do the Chinese practice any religion?

The short answer is, actually no, at least not in the way a westerner understands.

Under the Communist rule of China, religions are either banned or curtailed so severely by strict adherence to the Communist Party lines that they lose most of their meanings as independent religions.

Monks, Taoists, Buddhists in China all have to swear undying royalty to the Communist Party. It is not uncommon to hear monks in public lectures say things like “We must love the Communist Party”, “we must obey the Communist party and our dear leader Chairman Xi”, or that “without the Communist Party, we would have all starved.” As for Christians, instead of worshiping Jesus, priests and pastors must hang the portrait of Xi Jinping in their churches and parishes. In regards to Islam. … The only people who still practice Islam in China are all in Xinjiang concentration camps.

Not only that, but to be a Communist member in China, you must avow that you are an atheist.

If the Chinese have any religion, not in the traditional sense of the word (everyone must believe in something, even if they are atheists), then the three pillars of their unwavering faith are atheism, Darwinism and social Darwinism, and the worship of money and power.

The proponents of atheism also upholds dialectical materialism:

All Chinese students who have graduated from Chinese junior high school must have memorized the following dogmatic mantra: Matter determines consciousness. Matter is of the first kind. Consciousness as it exists in the world is the product of matter through eons of development. Consciousness is the function of the brain, and is the subjective projection of matter to the world. Any philosophy that challenges the above doctrine, such as Platonism or Leibniz’s Monads, is banned. Thus in this strict adherence to dialectical materialism there is simply no room for a non-physical higher being who might be the primal cause for anything physical in this world. In fact, anyone who uses the original text of Karl Marx to criticize the current interpretation of Marxism and dialectical materialism within China can be subject to the death penalty. Khrushchevites and Titoists, who were Marxists who disagreed with Mao’s interpretation of Marxism, were purged and tortured to death.

Evolution as an ideology:

Evolution itself is un-debate-able and is held on par as a religion. No one is allowed to question evolution and all Chinese students are taught evolution as the ultimate theory of the origin of mankind. To say that God created humans is tantamount to heresy and treason. In China, the supreme ruling emperor, whether it be Mao Zedong or Xi Jinping, is God.

The worship of money and power:

In their constant struggle for survival, the Chinese only understand power and money. With money, they use to cajole and seduce the powerful, to ease the yoke on their necks, and with power, whatever power they can get out of a tyrannical system, they use that power to crush the people underneath them. Thus the Chinese society is a pyramid, with one single ruler at the very top, who crushes everyone else with his iron fist, and a few elites in the upper middle class, who crushes the people beneath them, and so on and so forth, with the people at the very bottom, over half a billion of whom, being treated as slaves.

How did China come to adopt those values as they are manifested in modern China? Have they always lived in such a society?

In some way yes, but in some other way, the modern Chinese society might be unique and different from the old feudal Chinese history.

So in order to answer that question, we actually to trace back to the “long long ago”, to the times of imperial China under Qing dynasty. During this period there was, of course, an enormous influx of western ideas into China, such as democracy, freedom of expression, the social contract, communism, socialism, utilitarianism, etc. At the time the leading Chinese intellectual Yan Fu 严复 started translating the works of Herbert Spencer, the leading Social Darwinist in England, and Yan Fu’s translated works of Herbert Spencer became so popular that leading Chinese intellectuals at the time, such as Lu Xun, Hu Shih, etc., all have read his translations, and some of his translated phrases, due to their popularity, became deeply ingrained as common expressions in China, even to this day. 物竞天择，适者生存。

The Chinese, despite of their knowledge of other Western thinkers and other Western schools of though, just somehow had a natural affinity to Social Darwinism. Much like Communism, Social Darwinism was able to take root in China much more easily compared to, say, Democracy, the Social Contract, the Spirit of the Law, etc.

The Chinese see themselves living in a Social Darwinist world in which, if you are weak, you will be defeated, conquered, and even eaten, to make ways for the strong and powerful. Your weakness and your defeat are the marks of your inferiority, whereas the strong and powerful, by their very nature of being strong and power, prove their superiority through their conquest.

It’s how the Chinese operate even to this day. To some extent, the Japanese and Korean also operate in this fashion, especially so in North Korea, where the North Koreans operate a pure race Juche ideology 主體 that can only be compared to Nazi Germany.

And in such a system, in my personal opinion, when being developed and taken to its logical conclusion, cannibalism does become the norm. The superior humans see themselves as a superior species of living beings to other humans, and those humans, who are inferior, cease to be humans. And when this belief becomes deeply ingrained, when the difference between one human being to another becomes as wide as that of a wolf to a deer, then, it becomes natural for cannibalism to occur.

If one superior human being is so much more powerful that he becomes the predator and all other human beings are as meek as prey, then it’s no longer cannibalism. It becomes the natural order.

PART II

And if you understand this Social Darwinist foundation of the Chinese way of thinking, then, I think you will come to understand why there are so many cases of cannibalism in China throughout Chinese history. China is literally a human-eat-human world.

In China, and to some extent in all of East Asia, if you are weak, you will be defeated, tortured, and eaten alive.

The Cannibal Brothers Shen Changyin沈长银 & Shen Changping沈长平

Shen Changyin沈长银 and Shen Changping沈长平, (born in 1976 and 1984 respectively) from Henan province of China, were serial killers and cannibals who confessed to having murdered, and then ate the livers of 11 Chinese prostitutes from June 2000to August 2004.

A young Chinese woman, Ms. Zhao Meiying, age 23, accompanied by her boyfriend, went into the Taiyuan City Police Bureau to report a crime.

The police who received them found the young woman, named Zhao Meiying, shaking non stop from head to toe, her teeth was clattering and yet her forehead was covered by a sheet of thin sweat, locks of hair meshed to her temples, and her eyes were staring blankly as if in a daze.

When asked what she would like to report, she kept on repeating that she wanted to talk to the chief police officer. Unable to get a straight answer out of her, the police then asked her boyfriend Liu, “Can you tell me what happened?” Liu was unable to provide a clear answer either, merely saying that her girlfriend told him that she committed murder.

Ms. Zhao Meiying was petite and slim, with silky long black hair, and white skin, fashionably dressed and delicate-looking. Submissive and obedient, she looked as if she could never hurt a living thing.

At this point another police officer inquired whether Ms. Zhao was mentally ill. The boyfriend grabbed Ms. Zhao’s arm, hugging her into him and shouted, “Officer, my girlfriend is not mentally ill. Something horribly bad happened to her.”

After much interrogation and comforting, the girlfriend Ms. Zhao stammered, that there were two people from Henan province who had coerced her into killing someone. And then, she continued, “After peeling off the skin, they chopped her body into many pieces, and then they used sulfuric acid to dissolve the remaining body parts that cannot be removed and threw her into a large pot to be boiled.”

Hearing this, the police became furious. “Do you know that it is illegal to make fun of the police! Do you know the consequence of making false reports? I can arrest you now for picking quarrels and causing trouble!”

But Ms. Zhao became defiant and shot back, “I am absolutely not telling lies. If you don’t believe it, just follow me and check to see if anyone has just bought several large barrels of sulfuric acid.”

The police was suspicious and called two of his assistants, Xiao Zhang and Xiao Gong. “You two drive and take them to the store where they bought the sulfuric acid. Check to see if they are telling lies, then I will take them back.”

Sure enough, the owner of the store confirmed that two guys with Henan accents bought several large barrels of sulfuric acid with a total weight of 50 kilograms on the day before. This was unusual because the chemical could not be used for civilian use and the large quantity was suspicious.

The two assistants immediately returned to the branch to report to their supervisor. Only then did the police begin to pay close attention. The chief police personally interrogated Ms. Zhao Meiying.

“Tell me what happened. Why did you kill another person? Don’t be afraid if someone else coerced you. You took the initiative to cooperate with us. The Chinese law will be lenient to you.”

Ms. Zhao replied: “These two guys from Henan province are not human. I am afraid that they will take revenge on me.”

“Then you have to cooperate with us. If we catch them, you will be safe. First, tell me how you met them.”

“I’m in that kind of work.”

“Can you tell me clearly which kind of work you do?

“Well, I work in a night club. I’m a prostitute.”

“Go on.”

The Testimony of Ms. Zhao Meiying

“A few days ago, a new girl came to our nightclub. Her nickname was Su-Su.”

Ms. Su-Su’s real name was Li Chunling, age 26, arrested, sentenced, and executed by firing squad in 2005.

“She was from Shandong, tall, and had very delicate and very skin, and was very close to me. She invited me to dinner one day and we got to know each other. The day before yesterday, she called me and said that there were two ‘rich masters’ looking for girls for some entertainment, and asked to come to my apartment for sex.

“She brought two men with her. They were both quite handsome. And they were brothers. The four of us had dinner and drank wine together. During dinner, Su-Su told the two brothers to not look down on me, telling them that I owned a shore store, and she told them that she had seen my bank account too and there was 90,000 yuan (approximately 10,000 USD) in it.

“The fact of the matter was my boyfriend and I did have a small shoe store in Taiyuan. But the business was very bad. All the money I made in the past few years was used to support the shoe store and I actually owed a lot of debt. The bank account Su-Su saw was only 9 yuan, not 90,000 yuan. But I didn’t want to lose face, so I just played along. After dinner, Su-Su brought me a glass of milk, and I drank it without thinking too much. And then I fell asleep immediately. The milk she gave me contained sleeping pills. I didn’t know that.

“When I woke up, I found myself completely naked and I was tied up with electric wires. My hands and feet were tied together behind my back My pussy and nipples were fully exposed and I noticed semen was running down my thighs.

“The two brothers did not have pants on and their penises were swinging back and forth. I wanted to ask them why they were not paying me for sex but then I noticed they were standing over Su-Su who was crawling on the floor crying, and they were scolding her, saying that she was so stupid, mistaking 9 yuan for 90,000 yuan. Seeing me awake, they turned to me and asked if I wanted to live or die. I realized that they didn’t just want to have sex with me for free. They wanted to rob me. So I quickly said I wanted to live. “One of the brothers said ‘You can live, but you have to do what we say. Are you willing to obey?’

“I said yes, yes. I was scared but also angry. I was thinking about how they had sex with me for free and now they were going to rob me and make me do horrible things. I thought they were going to make me their sex slave after robbing me, but the guy told me to call a woman right away and kill her. I was stunned and I was scared to death and I said I didn’t dare to kill anyone. Then the guy took out a pair of pliers, applied it to my exposed pussy lips, held them together and twisted them. He said, ‘if I don’t kill, I will be killed.’

“The other brother wrapped an electric wire around my neck and started to strangle me. I wanted to scream but the electric wire around my neck was getting tighter and tighter and I felt like I was on the brink of death, so I had to save myself, and I said yes yes, I do whatever you tell me to. They loosened me and I called a girl I know.”

The girl Ms. Zhao called was Yang Chiling, age 23, who was from the same province as Ms. Zhao. She was a business partner and she had called Ms. Zhao before asking her about getting a deal on some order of high heeled shoes. Because Ms. Zhao owed some money to her, when Ms. Zhao called her, she came immediately, thinking that she was getting her money back.

Ms. Zhao continued: “As soon as Yang entered through the door, she was pushed down by the two brothers. They stripped her naked, tied her up with ropes. Seeing how pretty she was, the two brothers took turns raping her right in front of me and Su-Su. But they weren’t only satisfied with raping her, they used a lit cigarette to burn all over her breasts, thighs, ass, and pussy. She was gagged to stop her from screaming. And after they tortured her for nearly an hour, they went through her hand bags and pockets to collect whatever she had.

“After they took turns raping her, one of the brother handed me a knife asked me to stick it inside Yang’s neck.

“My hands were shaking. The knife fell from my hands. The brother picked up the knife and held it against my neck and said, ‘let me count to three. If you don’t kill her. You will be her.’

“The other brother said, “If you can’t do it, then we will just keep Yang. You’all are just women. All the same to us.’

“I picked up the knife, slowly walked toward Yang, and I closed my eyes and waved the knife at her neck like I was holding a pen and scribbling on a wall. She fell to the ground and after a few jerks, stopped moving.

“Then the brother said, ‘Now we are all tied together. If we are caught, you can’t run away. The lightest crime of murder is to be imprisoned for life.’

“They then gave me and Su-Su some money and asked us to buy a meat grinder to process the body. After buying it, they had cut the body into several pieces, but after throwing the body into the meat grinder, it couldn’t be stirred for a long time and got stuck. The brother said, ‘There are so many fake and shoddy goods nowadays.’ and then asked me and Su-Su to clean up the meat grinder and take it back to store for return.

“Then they personally bought several large barrels of sulfuric acid and threw the body parts into the sulfuric acid to dissolve them. Some internal organs were difficult to melt, so they just threw them into the oil pan and cooked them out.

“I heard them say they still had a kidney in the refrigerator. They were saying to each other, what do you want to eat? What do you want to eat? Su-Su’s kidney is not good. She just had an abortion. She should take some supplement. Eating kidney is good for improving her kidney.”

The Police chief listened in silence and was not able to speak. After a while, he asked her: “Then how did you escape?”

Ms. Zhao said: “After the murder, I felt frozen. I didn’t dare to disobey them. Those two men realized that I was so scared, completely scared out of my wits, that they allowed me to go back to my store to get some money. They asked me to sell the shoe store and then come back and work with them. They said they were going to make me into their sluts and sex slave. After hearing what I said, my boyfriend immediately dragged me to come to the police.”

The police chief asked: “Where are they now?”

At this moment, Ms. Zhao Meiying’s phone rang. She looked down and was trembling with fear.

Li Chunling “Su-Su” had just called her. At the direction of the police chief, she answered and Ms. Li urged her to come back soon with the money by 7 o’clock in the evening or else they would come and kill her.

The police chief told Ms. Zhao: “Don’t panic. Tell her you’ve got the money and send it to her right away. Ask them where they are.”

After hanging up the phone, Ms. Zhao said to the police chief: “They said they were still inside my apartment,” so the police chief sent a policemen to go with Ms. Zhao to “arrest the two cannibals and Su-Su.”

At this time, the police still had trouble believing everything Ms. Zhao said. While murder has always been very common in China, dismemberment and cannibalism were still rare and most Chinese police were not accustomed to such outlandish accusations.

The First Encounter with Cannibals

The police accompanied Ms. Zhao to come back to the apartment complex, and noticing the security door outside the unit had been locked, the police signaled Ms. Zhao to knock on the door, and even though she was so scared that her legs were shaking the entire time she still managed to knock a few times. After a while, one brother came to open the door and as he was doing it he said in a very heavy Henan accent, “Did you get the money?”

When she saw the man inside her apartment Ms. Zhao became so frightened her hands started to shake violently and she involuntarily looked towards the police hiding behind the wall.

The cannibal brothers immediately realized something was off. He pushed Ms. Zhao outward, then slammed the door shut hard. The police also realized that they had been exposed. They stepped forward to push on the door, but it had already been shut tight, and the security door, made of metals, was very strong and cannot be pushed open. One police took out a crowbar to pry the metal out.

As the police were trying to pry open the door, the two brothers jumped out of the window of the apartment and as they were leaving, one brother asked the other: “What do we do do with Li Chunling?”

The other replied, “I don’t care.” And Ran out.

The two brothers jumped onto the opposite roof of the low rise apartment complex just as the police had pried open the door and rushed into the living room.

The police caught Li Chunling still sleeping in the bedroom.

The leading detective said that someone would take her away and the others would follow him to continue the search.

And it was this “search” that scared every one nearly to death.

One police recounts: “When I walked into the kitchen, I saw two oil pans set up by the stove. We were all asking, ‘What’s inside?’ Then when I opened the refrigerator, I vomited on the spot. There were several human parts and a human kidney.”

The shocked police officers immediately reported to their superiors, and the Taiyuan City Police Station immediately took action to block the entire city. It took an hour for the police from issuing the order to completing the lock down, given that Taiyuan was a city of nearly 5 million people.

The police also immediately arrested Li Chunling and arraigned for her interrogation.

She told the police that the two brothers were Shen Changyin and Shen Changping. She had been complicit in committing a total of 6 crimes so far, killing 5 people. One of the victim was killed by Li Chunling herself.

Testimony of Ms. Li Chunling

During interrogation, Li Chunling wailed and said: “Like Zhao Meiying, I was forced too. I worked as a prostitute in a night club in Baotou [a city in Inner Mongolia, China]. The Shen brothers visited me for sex and I took them to the second floor of the apartment I rented because they told me they wanted to play SM and would give me more money. They tied my hands and feet. They fucked me non-stop from 8 PM until 4 AM. I never got a break. My body was being destroyed by those two monsters. I was bitten, slapped, chocked, spit on, and made to beg. I begged for some water at one point and ended up drinking their piss. They treated me like a dog. They pulled my hair and made me crawl on my knees and elbows with my hands and feet tied. Every hole of mine was fucked and they didn’t even use condom and I had cum deposited in my mouth, pussy and ass. I was so sore and so tired. I told them that they had to pay extra but then after they had quenched their lust, they pulled out a knife and told me to hand over all my money, otherwise they were going to kill me.

“They fucked me for free and then they tried to rob me. I wanted to cry so bad. I knew I had no choice at that point. They searched my apartment and only found 300 Yuan [40 USD] and I had no money in my bank account. They beat me again by slapping my face and kicking my stomach and they told me to hand over all the money I had hidden. They grabbed my breasts and twisted them so hard I told them even if they had wrung my nipples off my chest, I couldn’t produce more money. I said, if they wish, they could kill me.

“The Shen brothers became really angry after I said that and they picked up knives and axes and pointed at me and said they would chop my head off.

“I immediately started to beg. I begged hard. I kowtowed before them and I told them that they could do whatever they wanted to me, as long as they didn’t kill me.”

“At that point they still weren’t convinced and so I told them, ‘You can keep me. Keep me and let me work as a prostitute in the night club. I will bring you money and other women.’

“But the younger brother said, that I could run away and call the police whenever I had the chance. Then the older brother said that I must find a woman to kill with my own hands so that I could be let go.”

The police asked: “Who did you find?”

Ms. Li continued: “There was a girl named Liu Siqin who once stole my friend’s money. I always wanted to get back at her. So I called her and told her that I have two rich boss-masters who were willing to pay lots of money for sex. She came over quickly.

Liu Siqin, age 24, was raped, sexually abused, and then murdered in 2003

“I was very angry when I saw her. We used the same trick that the two brothers used on me by telling her that the rich boss-masters wanted to play SM. And the nasty bitch even brought her own leash. We had a couple of drinks first and then chatted a bit. She asked about how much they were looking to spend. I lied and told her they’d pay 1000 Yuan [150 USD] for an entire night. She asked me how did I get to know the two boss-masters. I told her we met in the night club. Then she took out of her own purse a collar and a leash, put the collar around her neck and handed the leash over to the older Shen brother. She said, ‘as long as the leash is in your hand, you have FULL access to my body, FULL rights to share me, and FULL rights to give me orders to do whatever you wanted.’

“The two Shen brothers proceeded to dominate Siqin all night long. They spit roasted her. The older Shen brother was fucking her mouth while choking her, slapping her, and crimping her nose and holding her down with his cock deep inside her. The young Shen brother would fuck her vagina, then her ass, and spank and whip her at the same time.

“After they were done spitroasting her they made her sit naked in a chair, her hands tied behind the back of the chair, and her legs pulled up and spread wide, with her feet near her pussy and her ankles tied to the legs of chair. She thought this was all part of a game until I walked menacingly towards her.

“The more I looked at her, especially at how much she enjoyed having sex, the angrier I became. After she was immobilized, I kicked her tits with my high heels and I asked her about the money she had looted from my friend.

“At this point she became apprehensive, and she started to realize that she had been trapped. The Shen brothers handed me a knife and asked me to stab it into Siqin’s chest.

“Firstly, I was angry. Secondly, if I didn’t kill Siqin, I would definitely be killed by the Shen brothers.

“So I stabbed her, and blood spurted out immediately. Siqin looked at my face. I became emboldened. I stabbed her a few more times she died soon after that.

“Shen Changyin told me that ‘You also killed someone. The lightest sentence is life in prison. You have no choice now but to follow us.’

“’Come and work with us. I won’t treat you badly. Just be our girlfriend.’ They told me.

The police asked: “Then what happened?”

Ms. Li continued: “Then they went on to dismember the body. Later I found out that they had already killed a prostitute in Lanzhou [a city in North Western China].

“They said they were playing games, tied her up, forced her to reveal her bank card password, and then strangled her to death. They said it was not easy to transport corpses, so they bought dozens of kilograms of sulfuric acid. Cut up the body and throw it in, melt the large pieces and flush the smaller parts into the sewer. The hair, teeth, pelvis and some internal organs could not be melted, so they were put into garbage bags and thrown away in a remote place.”

The police asked: “How was Siqin’s body disposed of? Was it also solved with sulfuric acid? What’s wrong? Tell me.”

Ms. Li blanched and swallowed hard, and continued: “Well, when they used knives to cut the body into pieces and was preparing to melt it, suddenly Shen Changyin asked ‘What does a human kidney taste like?’

“The younger brother Shen Changping said he didn’t know. Then Shen Chengyin asked me to fry Siqin’s kidneys. I had no choice but to go to the kitchen.’

The police asked: “Then?”

Ms. Li said,”Then the three of us ate it.”

The police said, “Hey, you are really capable as a woman. Let me ask you, are you not afraid of being with these two human-eating demons all day long?”

Ms. Li said, “Of course I was afraid. They were very cruel to me. They asked me to go to night clubs every day and bring girls back. They confiscate all the money I make from having sex with other men. If I didn’t do as they wanted, they would beat me up. Look, I have welts and bruises all over my body.

According to Li Chunling’s testimony, the police quickly learned about the background of brothers Shen Changyin and Shen Changping.

They were both villagers from Daxinzhuang, Huojia County, Xinxiang, Henan Province. Shen Changyin was the eldest brother and Shen Changping was the third brother. They also had a brother and a sister. Their father, Shen Yongguo, was responsible for public security in this village of three to four thousand people, and he was also the village chief as well as being the secretary of the Communist Party at the village. Shen Changying was married to a nurse who worked in Zhengzhou, a city in Henan province.

In early 2000, the two Shen brothers went to Lanzhou for business, but because they didn’t graduate from junior high, finding work was difficult.

When they had nothing to do, they went to prostitutes for entertainment. Shen Changping, who was not married, became romantically involved with a prostitute by the name of Du Surong, age 22 and spent a lot of money on her. Shen Changyin, the older brother, who already had a wife and children, also kept a young prostitute as his lover. Naturally, he also had to lavish a lot of money on her.

Half a year later, nearly all of their savings had been spent on prostitution, and could only “eat boiled cabbage,” a Chinese expression for being completely broke.

Being poverty stricken, and yet still full of lust for women, it was only a matter of time before they trudged on the road of crimes.

While in detention, before being executed by firing squad, Shen Changyin confessed, “Of course we can make money through normal channels, but we didn’t want to. We had no education, no wealth, no connections. We could only do back-breaking labor. But it was too slow. We wanted to enjoy life and did not want to live the life of migrant workers. At first, my brother proposed to block the road and steal money. I had been in a labor camp for three years before and I had experience in committing crimes. Road robbery was too risky, so I didn’t agree. I wanted to do kidnapping, get the money, kill the person, cut the body into pieces and dispose of it. Kidnapping prostitutes was the way to go because prostitutes had lots of money, and no one cares if a prostitute goes missing.”

In the square yard at No. 111 Wuwei Road, Qilihe District, where Shen Changyin and Shen Changping lived in Lanzhou, they killed their first victim, a prostitute named Yao Fang, age 25, who was originally from Hubei province.

The two of them met Yao Fang in a KTV, after haggling for price, asked her to come out to their apartment for sex.

Once inside their apartment, they asked Yao Fang to reveal her bank card password. Yao Fang was unwilling. She told them, “Those money I earned through selling myself for many years. I can’t hand them over.”

The two brothers stripped her naked, beat and kicked her mercilessly. After several rounds of beating, they hoisted Ms. Yao Fang to the ceiling with a rope, her arms were painfully twisted behind her back and her feet were dangling off the ground. Then the two brothers continued to assault all over her body.

They used cigarette lighters to burn her nipples and vagina. When her screaming became too loud, they gagged her mouth with dirty rags. The older Shen brother used an iron stick, burned red hot over a fire stove, and stuck the iron stick into Yao Fang’s rectum. The red hot iron stick was also used to hit Yao Fang’s breasts, thighs, vagina, and feet.

After two days of non stop torture with iron sticks, and cigarette lighters, Ms. Yao Fang couldn’t bear it anymore and finally cave in.

The Shen brothers took a total of 10,000 Yuan from Ms. Yao Fang, and then they strangled her to death with a copper wire.

According to police report, the Shen brother described their final killing of Ms. Yao Fang: “My brother and I took the copper wire, wrapped it around her neck and then we each pulled one end. In less than a minute, her face turned black and she died.”

Afterward, Shen Changyin used 50 kilograms of sulfuric acid to dissolve the body and threw the remaining parts of her body into the wilderness.

A day after, the two brothers left Lanzhou and fled to Sichuan province.

While 10,000 yuan was not an insignificant amount of money, it was still not enough to support the lifestyle that the two brothers had wanted to live. They squandered all of it in less than 3 months. After than eating, drinking and living in luxury hotels, the rest were all spent on prostitutes.

After running out of money, they decided to do it again, annd their second target was Li Chunling from Shandong province, who, after her initial kidnapping, eventually became their accomplice.

Their Victims in Sichuan

Li Chunling introduced Zhao Dan, age 23, a young and beautiful woman from Northeast China. Standing at 5 feet 7, Zhao Dan originally had inspirations to become a model. They used the same method to kidnap Ms. Zhao Dan, then tortured her to extract a confession from her, making her give them her bank card numbers, passwords, etc. And afterward they killed her. They burned off her hair, dissolved the corpse with sulfuric acid, and flushed small bits and pieces down the sewage.

Part of Zhao Dan’s heart, kidney, liver, stomach and small intestines were take out, scrambled and were made into smoked gizzards for the two brothers by Li Chunling.

Their third victim was Liu Li, age 19, from Hubei province. The cannibal brothers used the same method to kidnap her, extracted her confession, and then went to her resident to look for money and bank accounts. When they came back empty handed, they tortured Liu Li further by piercing her nipples and vaginal lips with burnt needles. She told them that her money was still with her pimp at the night club, and the pimp hasn’t paid her this yet month. They coerced her to call her pimp, and lied about her mom being in a car accident and desperately need money now, and they made her to say that Li Chunling would come over to pick up her salary. As soon as Li Chunling received the money, they killed Liu Li.

Liu Li’s breasts and thighs were carved out and Li Chunling used the meat, mixed with broccoli, to make traditional Chinese dish of steamed pork with Broccoli for the two brothers.

Their fourth victim was Wang Fengjuan age 21 from Jilin province. She had large almond shaped eyes and was friendly and honest. She came to the apartment of the cannibal brothers after being introduced by Li Chunling, and was immediately subdued by the two demons.

Li Chunling took Ms. Wang’s key and went back to her residence to collect all her valuables, and in order not to make too much noise, the brothers planned to kill Ms. Wang during day time the next day,

The younger brother was responsible for guarding Ms. Wang. He tied her to the radiator was ropes. At around six o’clock, he fell asleep. Around eight o’clock, he suddenly heard a loud noise. Somehow, Ms. Wang was able to untie wire but having nowhere to escape, she was forced to out of the window.

They went down stairs, and found Ms. Wang lying in a pool of her own blood, with blood continuously pouring out from her mouth and nose, but still alive, and they carried her back into the apartment. The older brother determined that she had caused injury to her internal organs and might not survive long.

After a while, Ms. Wang woke up, unexpectedly smiled at the two brothers, and then fainted again.

The two brothers slapped her and woke her up again. They quickly asked her the password to her bank account, but Ms. Wang didn’t say a word.

Two hours later, at around ten o’clock, when they thought Ms. Wang had finally given up her last breathe and died, she suddenly opened her eyes again and smiled at all three of them.

This left a deep impression on the two cannibal brothers, as they didn’t understand why she smiled at them.

Afterward they decomposed and melted her body, but when they tried to flush it down the sewage, they found out the sewage had been blocked, potentially because there has been too many corpses.

Ms. Wang’s kidney was carved out and Li Chunling used the kidney, mixed with traditional Chinese vegetables and made a dish for the two brothers.

With the money the two brothers made from kidnapping, ransacking, and killing prostitutes, they lived like kings, buying fancy clothes, dining at expensive restaurants, renting out luxury apartments, and, hiring more prostitutes, with Ms. Li as their personal servant, sex slave, punching bag, and whipping post.

In Ms. Li’s personal testimony, she states that the two cannibal brothers would not allow her to eat dinner with them. Rather they made her stand by their side as they ate, and she acted as their personal maid servant, fetching beer, taking plates in and out of the kitchen. And they made sure she was completely naked when she did it. A few times to humiliate her, they stuck chopsticks inside her vagina and made her hold it while they dined with another prostitute. And if she showed any resistance or unwillingness, the two brothers whipped her bare ass with belts.

In another instance, the two brothers brought Ms. Li to a foot massage parlor and ordered two masseuses to massage their feet, while Ms. Li was ordered to kneel in between the two brothers, with her head bowed to the ground, and they used her back and ass as an ashtray.

After the arrest of Li Chunling

The true extent of the horror became apparent to the police after Li Chunling was arrested. Equipped with her testimony, the police started to investigate deeper and especially to verify the locations Ms. Li had mentioned and sure enough, in just every location she had mentioned, the police had discovered fragments of human parts, which had started to disintegrate, inside the sewage. Unfortunately, the police were only able to identify parts of them, and many human body parts remained unidentified, and the police suspect that there may have been even more victims, victims that Ms. Li was not aware of.

In the aftermath of the shock, the police conducted nationwide search on those two demons. The case also received attention from the Central Communist Government, especially so because it involved cannibalism, which have cause serious social unrest.

In fact, the Central Ministry of Public Security set up a special team to catch the criminals and list the case as urgent priority of the year.

From that point on, nationwide crackdown was initiated and three types of cases were in particular investigated: cases of the serial disappearance of prostitutes, cases of corpse dismemberment, especially the case of corpses dissolved by sulfuric acid, the robbery case involving two brothers, and the kidnapping cases.

Soon, various clues were gathered. In May 2004, 7 prostitutes suddenly disappeared within two weeks in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province.

Normally, no one would call the police, but this time it was different. The police had repeatedly publicized to pimps, local club owners, and mafia bosses that two cannibals who killed, dismembered and ate women were on the loose. Owners of prostitutes who did not call the police risked being arrested themselves.

In addition to the testimony given by Li Chunling, four more missing prostitutes were linked to the cannibal brothers:

Shu Xiaomei, age 23

Shao Mei, age 21

Chen Qianqian, age 24

Guan Xin, age 18

Of all their victims, Guan Xin, age 18, was the youngest. After the arrest of Li Chunling, the two cannibal brothers continued to travel to different cities all across China, and in every city they went to, they repeated the same thing that they have always done: Find a prostitute. Kidnap her. Torture her. Force her to give all her money to them. And then cajole her to introduce another prostitute friend and let her kill her friend.

After she was lured, kidnapped and raped, Guan Xin was forced to kill her friend Chen Qianqian, age 24 in Hefei, a city in Anhui province.

Guan Xin was not just very young, but also very beautiful. She was called “the flower of Night Club” in Hefei, and the two cannibal brothers swindled her by telling her that they were going to pay her 10 times what she normally makes to come out with them.

Once they had controlled Guan Xin, they tortured her mercilessly, using the usual torture techniques that they had meted out to their previous victims, by using lit cigarettes to burn her nipples and vaginal lips, using iron sticks burned bright hot to poke into her rectum, mouth, and vagina.

In addition to Chen Qianqian, they used Guan Xin to seduce two other prostitutes: Shu Xiaomei, age 23; Shao Mei, age 21, in Shijiazhuang, a city in Hebei province.

The two cannibal brothers were arrested and executed by firing squad in August 2004.
