You can never control your dreams; they are the manifestations of all your secret desires and love and pain and all your life experiences that you can never erase, though they can be repressed, but they will reemerge, like a Loch Ness monster out of the calm surface of the lake and for a brief moment impresses upon your mind like a dark shadow and then is neither seen nor heard again. A dream, no matter how sweet, is always so painful, because a dream is too intimate, too personal.

Your fantasy, however, is under your control. You are the lord over your fantasies. You can shape and mold them as they are solely your creation, and no one else’s.

In your fantasies you escape your experience. In your dreams you suffer your experience.
